I wish there was a law that said…

I wish there was a law that said everyone was free to marry without the limitations of gender. This would be a good law because it bring us another step closer to equality.

This law would have to be a federal law for it to really push forward change. A benefit of living in a certain state should not be that we gain marriage rights by being there….

Besides that, we should be able to benefit from filing joint taxes, getting that extra credit for officially being a family…

We shouldn’t have to hire lawyers to spell out specific things in case of serious hospital visits, death…

And let’s not even discuss the papers we have to drawn up to protect our kids.

We could add our partners to our insurance without special permission from them aka the domestic partnership clause.

This law would make us more secure as a couple…

Isn’t it all about security?
