The Black Girl Syndrome

The Black Girl Syndrome. I’ve seen it. Admired it. Never had to deal with the complications of it, until now.

It can ruin an entire day as you spend hours searching for a cure. You look online, in stores, everywhere, to find just one thing to make it all better.

The Black Girl Syndrome, aka TooMuchBootyItis.

Sigh…

As I have previously mentioned, I am small, so my case is not the most severe I’ve seen, but this is the first time I’ve ever had to search for a cure aka jeans that fit without gapping.

I first noticed what was happening when I put on a pair of jeans that were bought intentionally a size larger than normal and I realized my ass still looked quite prominent, actually mire prominent than my normal everyday tight jeans.

I was confused… Scratches head…

Then it hit me. My tight jeans were acting like a girdle and minimizing my bootyliciousness.

So I decided to go buy bigger jeans. I was tired of struggling and doing knee bends anyway…

Three hours later, I had tried on ten pair of jeans. All of them fit in the booty, but nowhere else. All I had to show for my shopping excursion was new panties…

But I’m almost sure those won’t keep me warm through the winter.

Ohhhhhhhhhh I hate jean-shopping. The best pairs of jeans I’ve ever had were Tilt jeans, but they don’t make those anymore, and size 1 or size 2 flared jeans from Lane Bryant…but they cost an arm and a leg.

    I feel you, girl.

Lane Bryant makes 1′s? I get the evil eye every time I step in there…

for your small frame i’d suggest getting your jeans tailored. or going to a special Levi’s store like the one here in nyc where they can really shrink the jeans to fit you. NO LIE… they actually put you in a tub full of water to shrink the jeans to you. it’s awesome. wish i could find the link.

it may cost you a little more… but it’s worth it for a good quality pair of denim that will last for some time

Girl I have the same problem. My booty comes and goes as it please. My jeans vary in size if I want the right look. LOL

Ha!! Your weight is like mine. It shifts from one area to another. Smh!

The only news I have is not good news. As you know, part of why I “chose Black” as a child was that, suddenly, after the schools integrated when I was in 4th grade, my big ol’ butt was not only no longer ostracized, but APPRECIATED. But for 20 years I never found a pair of jeans that weren’t huge everywhere else, if they fit my butt.

Truth is, shapes of pants did improve some since then, but not much. What happened to me, instead, was that with age, debility, and no sex for an eternity, I lost my butt, and I gotta tell you, I’d rather fly to NY and sit in a tub of water than have that happen!

(Fortunately, since I’ve last seen you, it’s returned some, due to that Red Cord business I found when last in the A, which reactivated my long inert glutes.)

I reckon what I’m telling you is that you can either fuck up your back, stop having sex and wait 30 years for gravity to become your worst enemy, go to NYC to sit in a tub of water, or, just keep ranting!

Not very good choices, I know…….

I can’t think of ever going through with this issue and thinking about my shape I probably should have *shrug*. I don’t have any advice, but I will say I am so tickled over here picturing you get into these jeans and scratching your head. Hehe
